Telling Our Stories; Black History (Feb. 9, 2012)

 "Sojourner Truth"
Credit: womenhistory.about.com

In honor of Black History Month and to commemorate the unending women who braved their lives, their freedom, and their souls I thought it best to allow the music today to remind us of what Black History is....A journey....A journey that we are constantly on, the destination is not reached for as we live and breathe each day we ourselves make Black History.

Just to give you a taste here is the immortal and amazing Abbey Lincoln doing Freedom Day with Max Roach in 1964.

First-time visitor and first thing I see is Abbey Lincoln, and one of hers with Max Roach too.

Can't imagine a better first impression!
