Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), located at
4th and Independence Ave in SW, presents The Origin of the Milky Way at 11:30 a.m., in the Rasmuson Theater. The author, Barbara Duncan, is the education director at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, has compiled and edited a book on Cherokee stories for readers age 9 and up. Brenda Eason owner of the BBON (Black Business Owners Network) is asking the community, organizations and business owners to come forward with winter clothing (coats preferred) toys and potentially CD players for families living in shelters. Celebrate the season with Coyaba Dance Theater as it presents its annual Kwanzaa program. Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes, these gospel legends captivate audiences with their big sound and rapturous dancing bring their sound to the Kennedy Center’s Millenium Stage at 6pm.
